Using Picture My Life Cards to Make Greeting Cards

Picture My Life cards have so many uses as I'm sure you know. I didn't get it at first, to tell you the truth, but here goes.

  1. They can be used as titles for your scrapbooking pages.
  2. They can be used as embellishments for your scrapbooking pages.
  3. There are somewhat blank cards that can be used for journaling.
  4. They can be mats for pictures.
  5. They can be used in the vertical or horizontal mode.
  6. They are great for the easiest of all scrapbooking, pocket pages where you add cards and pictures in page protectors, no cutting, no stamping, no adhesive. How easy is that?!
  7. AND
  8. They can be used to make all sorts of greeting or occasion cards.
This is what I chose to do to make a card for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #261.

Using the Be-YOU-tiful Z4149 Picture My Life 3x4 and 4x6 cards, I created this card in very little time.

The Bashful and green gingham papers and cardstock came fro the Gimme Some Sugar paper pack. The little bit of stamping I did, hi and feel better soon, were from my "M" stamp collection, which is getting quite sizable now. They are small and cover all sorts of occasions. They are very easy to go through when you keep them in the small organizational containers. LOVE THEM!!!!

Supplies used:
  1. Be-YOU-tiful Picture My Life Z4149
  2. Gimme Some Sugar paper pack X7228B
  3. Juniper Ink Pad
  4. Tangerine Ink Pad
  5. Shimmer Trim
  6. Value Pack Cards and envelopes

Family Love-Truly Close To My Heart

A new Color My Heart Color Dare challenge this week got me to try to make a heart that was an inspiration to me. The colors of cardstock I used for this project are Raspberry, Mink and Juniper.

One of the CTMH consultants created a lovely one page layout using four colors in a fallish color theme. I loved it! Sometimes I need a shove, so I decided to use these 3 colors to get me off of square one. Using a heart from one of our CTMH Cricut cartridges, Artistry, I sized it at 9 1/2" and cut a white cardstock heart. I then picked a sheet of each color and cut 1 heart from each color. Stacking the 3 colors and holding them tightly together, I made cuts with my paper cutter keeping the lowest point of the heart as the starting point cutting 1-1 1/2" around each side. I used our Flower Market cartridge and cut a rose at 2 1/2" using a white background and raspberry highlight. I also cut some leaves for a little added interest. I used on of my favorite stamps, What Matters Most D1728, and stamped "family" "love" in raspberry. Bitty sparkles Z1263, lots of them, and a liberal use of the clear shimmer brush over the rose and the seems along the color divides. The center of the rose has a gold glitter gem.

Here is my final product:

The upside to this project is if you are cutting 3 or 4 colors, you can put together 2 or 3 additional hearts. Very cool. One for you and others for friends or family. WooHoo!!!!

Card Challenge for April 12, 2018

I made a card for the Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge for April.
Color Dare #286--Tic Tac Toe with Stargazer Color Palette
Color Dare #286 - Closes Thur Apr 12th

With that challenge, here is a card I made with my son  in mind (who has always been a fan of Astronomy and anything to do with space).

Using the leftovers of the Stargazer kit, I put this together using the Make It From Your Heart vol. 4 card templates. The rocket is one of the PML cards that I cut down. Crazy easy to do!!

Designer Travel Cases part 2

I did a quick video on the second part of the Designer Travel pieces I received from Close To My Heart recently. The Designer Travel series are cases and luggage that can be used for carrying your scrapbooking supplies to retreats or your friends home, or wherever you are travelling and want to bring all your scrapbooking materials. You don't want your papers to get wrinkled or dogeared so the cases were designed accordingly. You want all your like things, for instance inks, stamps, tools, to be in separate containers for organizational purposes and away from your papers. The Designer Travel system takes all of that in mind.

Here are pictures of all the Designer Travel pieces from CTMH:

Here is my crazy video about some of the pieces:
