I have a console in my foyer, or maybe I should say, by my front door sits my mother-in-law's table-high curio cabinet that is filled with her beloved porcelain and glass birds, flowers, bunnies, vases, baskets and sweet little people, that you might expect a woman, who would have been 90 this year, to have in her home. All these delightful little things are there greet whomever comes in our home. They add warmth and personality in my home and it just so happens I love glass just as she did. Back to the entryway table, of course, people don't know all the little critters are welcoming them, so I have a frame (12 x 12) sitting on the table that I change out, usually according to the season to do this for them. Last week, I had a Scrapbook group coming over for their monthly club, so I did a quickie for St. Patrick's Day, which isn't great, but got me going (translated off my butt). Oh, by the way, that magnolia sitting in the tall glass vase is from none other than Magnolia Market in Waco, Texas. That is the store belonging to Chip and Joanna Gaines from HGTV's Fixer Upper.
So here is the overall look of the console:
I love the font in the new Cricut cartridge Flower Market. There are very simple straight letters and also curly cue letters depending on whether you use the shift key. I cut the letters and shamrock from my glitter paper stash. I could have been trendy and used the Sea Glass glitter paper. For contrast I used a sheet of canary fundamental cardstock also from my older stash of fundamentals. This is to let you know you can use up your older discontinued papers but you can also adjust your own work to fit what you have. The little pot of gold at the end of the rainbow was taken from Google Images and printed on my HP printer just for fun.
Here is a close up:
The Cricut Flower Market cartridge for the has so many beautiful flowers on it. I'm in the process of making my Spring Time welcome page. The flowers of the front cover of the Close To My Heart Annual Inspirations catalog to the right are cut from this cartridge. It even has a Texas Bluebonnet, the state flower of Texas.
Here's a little piece of Texas from one of the many trips Jim and I make to take pictures of the bluebonnets. It's a "thing" in Texas.
