Summer Vibes Scrapbook Workshop Kit

This is my Summer Vibes Workshop video that is the completion of a Facebook Live event I was giving but had technical difficulties, as they say. The live event stopped for reasons beyond me, so I decided to continue it in the same manner but on YouTube. This is not over dubbed or speeded up. You can cut along with me and create along with me here. My husband and I thought we had everything figured out. We will continue to work towards the Live events. My next event will be working with Bloom with Grace. I can't guarantee it will be on Sept 27th, 2020, since hubby is having health issues. We will see....

Creating a Heart Shaker Card with Tiny Heart Confetti!

This is my first heart shaker card and I wanted to try it out. I love the tiny open and closed heart confetti you can make with the heart thin cuts. Except for my clumsy fingers it is easy to make. 2nd time will be a breeze!! You can use any colors of cardstock or pattern paper you choose. I was adding a touch of fall to mine.

Here's my process video:

Adding New Colors to the CTMH Color Palette

This is a quickie video of how I label and organize the annual Close To My Heart addition and subtraction of colors. CTMH has their finger on the pulse of trends including colors. We have 7 new colors and discontinued colors. Every year we have a Color of the Year. This year it is Blue Belle, a grayish blue color. My stamps live in our Workspace Wonder Stamp Pad carousel (8 stamp pad stacks make up the carousel). The cardstock is kept in a Kallax from Ikea.

Bloom With Grace Cricut Collection Layouts

These 2 layouts are created with the Bloom with Grace Cricut collection. The beautiful sunflowers and pumpkins were fun to make. The sunflower layout is all thought out for you. The entire layout is one of the images in the collection. All you do is feed the paper into your Cricut! Amazing!! The pumpkins I cut out are in lots of different sizes. I large one had to be a background for a picture and the smaller ones just wanted to be haphazard on the side. Sometimes the layouts just tell you what to do!

A Cricut Picnic with Summer Vibes Papers from Close To My Heart

The first time I saw the red gingham paper from the Summer Vibes collection I thought of a picnic. The next thing that come to mind is watermelon with homemade ice cream following. So here is my interpretation using these papers with the coordinating Summer Vibes Cricut collection. I love the holographic sunglasses and bedazzled flip flops along with the "Chill" title (meant to be a pun). *The Summer Vibes Workshop with and without page protectors is still available even though it is from the prior catalog. The layout inspiration came from "Make It From Your Heart" vol. 3.

Flowers!!! Scrapbook Pages Using the CTMH August Stamp of the Month

The August Stamp of the Month  has all these wonderful flowers on it. I will admit to going overboard and stamping and embossing 100 or more of them! I used cheerful colors of ink and cardstock to liven things up. I had to fussy cut all of the images so it did take time and I did had deep ridges in my fingers afterward, but I love my flowers. Now I have so many, I'm looking to make whatever I can to use them up. This is one of my projects, a 2 page layout for family photos that are out being printed. Can't wait!!

I did make a process video showing how I put it together:

I enjoyed doing this fairly simple layout. Hope you like it!!

Floating Frames on Cards-The Good The Bad and the Oops!!

This is my first attempt at making a floating frame card. You can learn what not to do then see my next video of what I learned!!

Here's my oops card:

The 3 cards in this video are my next attempt at the floating frame card. Using a floral cluster rather than individual pieces is the way to go. I used a thin cut to make a circle from the upper center of the flower layout and set it aside while I created the first card (lower left). The wreath and sentiment were stamped onto a round made from the same thin cut. The leftover circle of flowers were raised with foam dots and tape and adhered to another card (lower right). Quotes and sentiments were added. The card on top was created to use up some of the many pieces I stamped, embossed and fussy cut. I decided to not cut out a space for a sentiment but placed the flowers and leaves so that an irregular opening would be left for the sentiment. The stamp sets used are A million Little Things and the August Stamp of the Month.

I Think I Got It!

I'm happy with how they turned out. I've already picked out who I'm going to send my cards to. I can't wait for them to receive them!

Hope you like my cards!! Try this technique, it really is fun!!

Stitched Together Workshop-the Cutting guide and Layouts 1, 2 and 3

I am highlighting the Stitched Together Workshop kit from Close To My Heart. These layouts are like quilting with paper. The patterns are quilting patterns and the papers look like material you'd pick to make a quilt. All three layouts are interesting, detailed, unusual and beautiful. The colors and paper patterns are exactly what you would pick out for a quilt. I took a lot of joy and pleasure in building all the layouts. Not only are the patterns wonderful but the negative spaces created by the shapes are attention-grabbing and eye catching.
