I decided to combine an Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge with the Color My Heart Color Dare. I have to tell you a secret. I am not very creative :-(. So I am very thankful for the design teams that give me suggestions so that I can bring my creations to my scrapbook clubs. Thank goodness for these groups that take time to create these great sketches and color combinations.

Card Making Fun with Fundamentals

Mojo Monday has another great sketch for a card. You decide the sentiment whether it's birthday, anniversary, a thank you...whatever you wish. I went with birthday.

Here is the sketch:

 

It is so nice to have a "go by" for any layout. If I'm experimenting I waste a lot of cardstock. You can always count on Mojo Monday to come up with a classic.

Here's my card:

Close To My Heart has a new Annual Inspirations catalog out now and the Paper Fundmentals have changed considerably. This is from the Whimsy Fundamental pack. I really LOVE all the new designs that go with each other perfectly both in color and design.

The flower was cut using the NEW Cricut cartridge called Flower Market. This flower is on page 18.

There really are not happy words to type here that describe the wonder of this cartridge! You can make any flower in any size along with containers to put them in and a beautiful font to make your sentiments.

The stamp set I used for the card is called Birthday Sparkles:

Gratitude is the Secret

It's a new Color My Heart Color Dare challenge 

to use the Florence color palette. I can do that!! 

I am totally in Florence mode, but I only have a few scraps left of this paper.

            

Of course, I used the Florence papers and a simple design. The sentiment is fantastic but it comes from a Stamp of the Month for September. Sorry about that but you have to wait till September 1st. You don't want to miss this one!!

Nothing but blue skies ahead

The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge design made me think of a boat. It's a nice thought for me because I grew up on Long Island and we boated out of  Huntington Harbor, passed Lloyd's Neck and onto Long Island Sound. We fished for blues and went clam digging at low tide. Lots and lots of nice memories with my family. It's hard to live so far inland for so many years. You never get the sounds and smells of the salt water out of your head. 

So Thanks for the Memories Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge! 

Here is the outside of the card:

I created the card from our Regatta papers which are now sold out, unfortunately. The white figure on the waves could either be a sailboat or sailor hat. I always loved wearing my Dad's sailor hat and his navy peacoat. He was in the Coast Guard on the North Atlantic during WWII. He's gone now, so the little hat and the "Nothing but blue skies ahead" is for him.

This does give you an idea though of the make-up of the kits. The zip strips have coordinating borders and sentiments that go along with the papers. The little puffy stickers and the flat stickers add to the kits to make for easy embellishment. The paper pack has 2 sheets of easy to cut up Picture My Life images in 3x4 and 4x6 size. One side is vertical the other side horizontal, perfect for your layouts.

You Are Fabulous!

Another wonderful card challenge from the designers at Mojo Monday gave me a chance to use the last of my Florence papers. The many layered design adds to the beauty of these gorgeous papers.

I'll start off with the design:

 

Here is my card creation:

The hardest thing with this card is the circular design element, you have to cut it from one of the background and texture sheets from the kit. The heart is one of the complements in the kit and the rectangle with the sentiment is one of the Picture My Life cuts. What I'm saying is IT WAS SIMPLE TO MAKE!! I'm not yelling, I'm excited, but it was just so easy to create.

Aloha! My New Card Challenge

I got my inspiration today from The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #171.

The card I came up with uses the colors from the #205 Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge:

Using some of the new Paper Fundamentals from both the Whimsy and Adventure palettes I started cutting ovals with my Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge which is now discontinued :-(

A New Card with New Papers from our New Annual Inspirations Catalog!

The flowers are a hint of something inside...

Mojo Monday has a new sketch out for inspiration.

Here's my card:

and here's the inspiration:

I used Whimsy Fundamental Papers from the new catalog to make the vertical strips and the Tickled Pink Thin Cuts and stamps to make the "friends". The wavy background was created using White Daisy cardstock 1385 and a discontinued embossing folder that was swiped with Crystal Blue ink. The pink inks are Pixie (light one) and Cotton Candy. The sentiment in stamped in black and from the Tickled Pink stamp set C1651. The embellishments are Gold Sequins.

Close To My Heart is changing many things including the Ink Pads. This is very important because they are changing to a magnetic closure that should be much easier to open. Yay!! The new pads should be available towards the end of August. 

All of our Ink Pads can be found in the Going Soon section of my website. 

It is important to note the new pads will be a little more expensive than the older ones. 

So back to the our Beautiful NEW Annual Inspirations catalog. We have a New Cricut Cartridge that is called The Flower Market. The flowers that you can make are SPECTACULAR!!!!
