Wild & Punny Makes a Cute Birthday Card

I love the Wild and Punny stamp and thin cut set. As it turned out it is perfect for me because it has a Happy (belated) Birthday sentiment with it and a very cute, sleepy sloth. Since the sloth is from the rain forest, I decided to use the discontinued papers, Chelsea Gardens.

This card is for a friend that enjoys pretty things and Chelsea was one of our especially beautiful paper packs. Of course, she likes anything shiny also, so I am also using a glitter paper and I'm pretty sure it is Julep. I love making shaker cards and I just got the new silver star confetti, so they got added to the Julep Sequins. I worked with this woman for decades and she is definitely one of a kind! The funny little chameleon and his pun were THE PERFECT addition to the envelope! I colored the sloth and his branch with the Tri Blend markers. I really enjoyed making this card thinking how much she will enjoy it when she opens it up. I can hear her laughing now! :-)

A Combo Challenge Using New Colors For Me

This card is a combination of the Color My Heart Color Dare and Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

So, here we go.

Color my Heart Color Dare 382:

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge:

Here is my interpretation:

Supply List:

I distressed the edges of the card front and sentiment with Lilac ink using my new fav (a make-up brush from a store front called Daiso) The bristles are so fine that you get a very soft edge. Think I'm going to go back and get more of them. Understand this is an import place and the brushes are $1-4 depending on the size. You can't tell from the image but all the berries and leaves were colored with one or the other shimmer brush. Since I could only use purples, I didn't color the leaves green.

Not a pretty picture...but here it is.

The February Stamp of the Month is a good one. Cards for all your female relatives can be created with this stamp it is great!!

Didn't I tell you it was a good stamp. February 29, 2020 is the last day.

Thanks!

February Sketch Challenge from Creative Scrapbooker's Sketchy group

I'm enjoying the sketch challenges from the Facebook Creative Scrapbooker Magazine group. This is the second of the pages I'm putting together as my hubby and his friend are starting a plane build in our garage. The Urban papers work perfectly but are discontinued. I should have gotten many packs when CTMH did a Bring Back My Pack. What was I thinking!?

Here is the sketch. There is a lot of latitude to interpret so it is up to you to work it.

Other February Specials are running till the end of the month include:

Mojo and Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenges for February

I purchased a manly stamp for my husbands cards. It will be available March 1. It is called Dreams take Flight. I used it for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

My interpretation

Here is the Mojo Monday sketch:

For the Mojo Monday challenge I used the February Stamp of the Month.

Here are a couple of ideas from CTMH:

Here is my Mojo Monday card

I always decorate my envelope to match my card so I used a portion of the bouquet and stamped it in Ballerina. The bouquet was colored with the TriBlend markers using the various shades.

Supply List:

The Mix-in papers are so easy to put together and the quantities are running low since it is the end of the catalog this week.

A Better Spinner Card Demo

So I read over the instructions included in the Spin Card Thin Cuts set. I found one misleading item regarding the placement of the words on the spinner (not a big deal but it could be confusing). The reason for the 2 small disks actually makes the spinner more spinable (is that a word?) and makes placing the front piece onto the card base easier. The way I did Jim's card worked but placing the front piece was very awkward and clumsy looking.

In addition to creating a better spinner, I used the Color Dare Color Challenge #381 as an inspiration for my color choice.

A Close To My Heart Rainbow Spinner Card

I am making a spin card for my hubby, who is in the process of building a plane in the garage, again! With the rainbow and clouds stamp set it is a perfect backdrop for a plane. I just got both of the stamp sets Rainbow Wishes and Dreams Take Flight and wanted to use them. As per usual I read the instructions after the fact and found I was supposed to make 2 of the small round disks to put in front of and behind the larger disk. I don't seem to have a problem with the spin cycle of my card, though. Below is a list of everything I used. If you click on the links, you will be taken to my shopping website.

Spruced Up Cards from the Jan-Feb 2020 Catalog

The cards shown on page 6 of the Jan-Feb 2020 catalog uses the Spruced Up paper and the Spruced Up Cardmaking and Thin Cut Stamp set. The cards are lovely and perfect with these papers. I'm so glad one of my club groups decided they want to make them because that means I HAVE to make them. I love them. I show you how to make them including the sizes of the cut pieces.

Save Space in Your Scrap Room! Stamp Set Envelope Snap Removal

After reorganizing my office, including my collection of Close To My Heart acrylic stamp sets, I saw that I still have lots of stamp envelopes that have the snaps on them. All the new stamp sets no longer have the snaps. The flap just inserts into a slit taking much less space in our large organizers. I did one of the 4 sections of a large organizer which held a snug 12 stamp sets. After the snap removal, 5-6 more stamp sets can fit into the same space. I'm not taking out the paper parts or the foam stamping sheet from each envelope, but if you did, I would estimate you could probably fit 10 sets into the same space. I used an old Radio Shack 100 watt soldering gun to melt and remove the snaps. It was easy!! I did 12 sets in 14 minutes including cutting a slit. This was a far better way to remove the snaps than my previous way which was a wire snipper. Snaps went aflying that way!!

Reorganization of My Scrapbooking Office 2020

I can find stuff now!!! Some people are so good at organization, I, sadly, am not one of those. My friend Sylvia is GREAT at organization. I've had to spend some money and add some hanging files and more Stamp n Storage boxes to help me with all my scrapbook supplies. All of the discontinued papers, inks and cardstock that have been in a "stash" are now readily available to my scrapping friends when I have a crop. Hopefully, I haven't made you dizzy with my handheld Go Pro. ;-)

Let me know if you have any suggestions!

Thanks for watching!!

Easy Peasy Scrapbook Subscription for February 2020

Oh my gosh these are so easy!! The February 2020 Craft With Heart subscription layouts are so very quick to do and so cute! I did the layouts but forgot to hit the record button. I was so mad at myself and tried to think of a way to save my non video by showing you the pages and adding additional embellishments from the Celebrate Today kit that coordinates perfectly with this kit. Why put embellishments into the stash when you can use them?! I did want to add some extras to the layouts anyway. I didn't want to waste my pretty peony sticker!

I didn't make big changes. I chose to use some of the stickers that were left over from Celebrate Today and some of the acrylic stars that I colored with a TriBlend Bright Pink marker. I also LOVE the rainbow zip strip and did not want that to disappear into the stash black hole (if you know what I mean)!

Supplies:

  1. Craft with Heart
  2. TriBlend Markers
  3. 3D Foam Dots
  4. Liquid Glass
If you want to create these very easy no cut layouts, please shop with me to start the fun!

Thanks,

Valentine's Cards from Mojo Monday and Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

This video is about 2 challenges, Mojo Monday and Atlantic Hearts Card Challenge. The sketch challenges always have great ideas for any cards from birthdays to sympathy cards. You decide the sentiment and you decide the papers. I enjoy creating the cards using these challenges. The fun part is ANYONE can do these for your own use. When the cards get uploaded, you get to see how different brains create such different cards from the same sketch.

I take you from the sketch to the final product.
