Sangria-Great to Drink but It's Also Beautiful Paper!!!

The Sangria papers are glorious! Such luscious colors that are ready for fall but with great warmth, too. With the purples in the palette I used it for a picture of Phillip with Ginger and Daisy in front of the purple sage.

Back to my page.  It's on 12 x 12 Eggplant paper with Champagne 101/2 x 101/2 background. The squares are 2 x 2 in various Sangria papers. 

The words (family page 60 love page 66) were from the Artiste cartridge 

and the leaves were cut from page 44 of the Artistry cartridge. 

Gold Gems were added for embellishments 

and the dotted line around the Champagne box were done with the 

CTMH Chalk marker.

So Far This Is The Oldest You Ever Been

A birthday card funny. Let's not be too serious, especially about birthdays. I used a new stamp set from Close To My Heart.

The Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge #126 is the motivation for my creation :-).

I used the papers from the 

• Zoe Workshop On The Go which included the new 
• Coral Shimmer Trim. The stamp set is 
• Birthday Funnies B1491 which is a Hostess Reward. I used a 
• corner rounder on the opposite corners for a different touch. The inks are 
• Poppy and 
• Whisper. And the sweet little bow is from a new collection of embellishments that come in a variety of colors that go with the Fundamental Papers and is called 
• Glacier Fundamental Assortment Z3102.

Fall Colors and Butterflies

I love Monarch butterflies. 

One of my truly best memories and experiences was when I was a volunteer at the Dallas Arboretum. It was their fall multi-week event called "Autumn at the Arboretum". No matter what time of year it is at the Arboretum, the plantings are spectacular. This year there was an abundance (this word does not do the amount justice), profusion, copious amounts, lots, of yellow and gold chrysanthemums. As I walked the gardens tens probably hundreds of thousands of monarchs came in to feed on their trek to Mexico. There were so many butterflies that I could hear their wings flapping. Unfortunately this was not the days of cell phones where you could just whip out the phone and take a picture. The memory is a beautiful one, one I wish everyone could experience.

A 2015 Family Portrait

Late summer in Texas is hot, of course, but there is still beauty. Texas Sage is a shrub that is a late summer bloomer. The blooms are pinkish or lavender the leaves are fuzzy and gray-green. They survive drought and heat and we have both of those in spades in Texas!! 

So it's late summer and I look in the backyard and there are lavender blooms starting to show. Within a couple of days the shrubs were in solid bloom. I had to get a picture, but rounding up the guys and the dogs, well let's just say they don't have the same sense of urgency that I do. I missed the best bloom day but got them to cooperate the next day. 

Here we are in all of our Texas Sage glory..

My inspiration was the picture shown with the September Stamp of the Month, Paper Garden S1509.

The images outlined in red are Cricut cuts which I used for the flowers and leaves found on the Artiste cartridge page 54. The cost of the stamp is $17.95 unless you make a $50 purchase, then it is only $5! 

"Love" is also a Cricut cut (thank goodness)!! I found it on page 66 of the Artiste cartridge Z3170.

The dotted paper is from the Kaleidoscope packet X7202b.

The inks and embellishments I used to go with the paper on the flowers and leaves are:

The "Family" and "Together" stamps are from the Sangria Workshop On The Go G1097 stamp set included in the kit. 

As you can tell, I did a lot of mixing and matching to make my 1 page layout, but I love how it came out! I have it displayed on my foyer table to show off my handsome husband and son. Ginger and Daisy even behaved!!
