Close To My Heart's calendar for 2020 is called Reasons to Smile. It is a Cut Above kit meaning there is NO cutting, only gluing. It comes with 13 easy to put together scrapbook pages. You can add pictures as you go through each month. At the end of the year you have 13 pages ready to put into an album. There are die cut elements, stickers and picture backgrounds that are ready for your adhesive. The kit can come with a very cute stamp set to mark the dates for appointments for events. Birthday Card Using the August 2019 Stamp of the Month

A great Stamp of the Month (SOM) for August gives us the ability to make cards for oh so many occasions. You can even tag the back of your card or envelope with the "from me to you" and some hearts. So Cute!!

The card was very easy to create. I embossed the dark side of a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of sage cardstock. A 3 3/4 x 4 piece of the light side of the sage cardstock is the second background. Two pieces of B & T coordinating papers from the pack were cut at 3/4" x 3 1/2" and 2". Happy Birthday was stamped in Eggplant ink on a 2 x 3" white cardstock with a backing of 2 1/2 x 3 1/2" sugarplum cardstock. The flowers and leaves are from the sticker complement sheet. Easy Peasy!

Card Challenges for August From Mojo Monday and Atlantic Hearts

When I looked at the Mojo Monday sketch this week, my first thought was to use our new Sunflower Sympathy stamp and thin cut set that will be available September 1, 2019. As I started to create the card, I got a text saying a friends mother had passed. It's such a sad time for this family. I know they will miss her terribly. 

I love the use of the sunflower for a sympathy card. Little did I know it would be put to use so quickly. This is an example of why it is so good to have cards ready to go. The lighter looking stamp on the envelope is 2nd generation stamping. Also on the sentiment there is a faint leaf that is also 2nd gen.

Seaside Sketchy Challenge

I've been incommunicado since July, so here I am getting back in gear. I'm starting off with the August Sketchy Challenge from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. The paper I used for the challenge is the Seaside paper from several years ago for the "Bring Back My Pack". Close To My Heart will pick a favorite paper from years ago to highlight in the Bring Back My Pack. This particular paper was especially pretty (in my opinion). It's perfect for any beach vacation. Since I get in brain ruts, I love using the challenges to give me a goal to create a new page.

Packing for the Close To My Heart 2019 Convention in Provo, UT

And away we go!! I've packed my scrapping stuff and I've packed my clothes. All I need to do is pack my toothbrush and I'm off!!

My video shows you what I'm bringing and how I'm packing it. The only additional thing I need to add is a sweater for those crazy cold convention rooms. Sometimes they are so cold they kick me into hibernation, then I fall asleep!!
