I followed a Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge to make this card. I also used an Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge sketch but I missed the deadline to enter the challenge. The card was completed in time but I just got busy...you know how that goes. Sometimes things just get a little out of hand.
Here is my first slimline card that is also a shaker card. The stamp set I used is From the Funny Farm which is a very cute and punny set. The card challenge came from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. This is a 3 window sketch which I chose to turn into shaker windows. I cut up a 4x6 flip flap to create my windows. So if you don't have specific shaker windows, you can create your own. You can even use plastic containers that food or whatever comes in. Recycle!! The frame was in Design Space from the CTMH Art Philosophy set.
This week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge paired with the Color My Heart Color Dare resulted in these sweet little critters from the Little Buddies stamp set. I colored the little guys with our Tri-Blend Markers. The Stitched Hexagon Thin Cuts were used to cut the 3 hexagons out of the Distress Watercolor Cardstock we carry. The hexagons are backed on 1 1/2" square of lilac, lemonade and sage cardstock. The strip of hearts is from a piece of gold foil paper that is discontinued, I placed it on a 3/4" piece of Lilac cardstock. I love these little critters, they are just too cute and can't help but make you smile!
It's snowing in Texas. This is going to be an unusually cold and snowy week in North Texas. We are never quite ready enough for these rare events. We don't have enough equipment, we sure don't have the driving skills and even my dogs look outside and look at me, as if to say, "are you crazy?"

I decided to use this beautiful thin cut called Stitched Lattice Background Thin Cut to make a Valentine. The inspiration came from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and Color My Heart Color Dare. What an easy way and great way to dress-up a card. I had some fun using a variety of papers, some discontinued. The polka dot tag shape was traced from an older stamp and fussy cut. The Stamp of the Month, Doodle Borders, worked perfectly for decorative touches. The Candy Apple red ink and cardstock makes for a bright and cheery Valentine.
