I love Monarch butterflies.
One of my truly best memories and experiences was when I was a volunteer at the Dallas Arboretum. It was their fall multi-week event called "Autumn at the Arboretum". No matter what time of year it is at the Arboretum, the plantings are spectacular. This year there was an abundance (this word does not do the amount justice), profusion, copious amounts, lots, of yellow and gold chrysanthemums. As I walked the gardens tens probably hundreds of thousands of monarchs came in to feed on their trek to Mexico. There were so many butterflies that I could hear their wings flapping. Unfortunately this was not the days of cell phones where you could just whip out the phone and take a picture. The memory is a beautiful one, one I wish everyone could experience.
