A New Color Dare Challenge

Here are the colors for this weeks Color Dare Challenge. This is a lot of colors, but lucky for us Close To My Heart has the Brushed paper pack X7190B. 

The top left paper has all the colors in it, WooHoo and I LOVE this paper and made many pages and cards and a mini album using it.

So here is the card I came up with:

I found an older discontinued stamp set that I colored with our Shin Han markers. The black shimmer tape  are for accent along with sparkles which are kind of hard to see.

A Fun Color Challenge and my Mother's Day Card

Who Remembers Necco Wafers?

color challenge this week reminded me of an old candy called Necco Wafers. I don't know if those are still in existence but they were pink and gray disks. 

Ok, I had to go google it:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necco_Wafers
So they've been around since 1847, holy moly, who knew!? They come in more flavors now, including chocolate. But I digress...

  


Ok, so the colors this week are:

• Pixie
• Slate
• Colonial White
• Silver

Inks-

• Pixie Z2644
• Slate Z2173

Cardstock-

• Pixie X5773
• Colonial White 1388
• Silver Z1829

I used my Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge Z3017 to cut a Mother's Day card. These holidays come up before you know it and I always am late. The cartridge had the cuts for the card, the front decorative piece and the inside decorative piece.

The Art Philosophy Cartridge Z1688 was used to cut all the flowers, flat and 3D.

Here's the front of the card:

I used lots of sparkles in Clear Z1752 and Pink Z1807 and  including some older discontinued ones (metallic flowers) and Sparkles Flourishes Z1708. I also made clear dots in the scallops using Liquid Glass Z679. Allow to dry untouched for 25 minutes. Also great for dew drops on flowers! The scalloped piece was backed with the Silver Z1829 cardstock.

The flat flowers are 2 pieces each the were lightly sponged in Slate ink. The colonial white 3 D flowers were sponged in Pixie ink. 

Here's the inside of the card:

The silver "ribbons" are the Silver Z1829 cardstock glued in place on the back of the decorative insert. The Silver Z1829 cardstock was also cut to fit the triangular piece.

I hope you like this card and consider making one for your Mom. You know how you were always told to make something for your mother, she would really love something made with your own hands, well it's true! Here's to my Mom who is 92 and soon to be 93! I love this woman!!

It's the Easter Bunny!!

Hopping Down the bunny trail is my Decoupage Bunny made from my scrapbooking scraps! 

 Here she is:

I used scraps from the following paper packets:

• Brushed X7190B
• Confetti X7189B
• Seaside X7192B
• Wanderful X7191B

The ribbons used for the tail and around the ears and neck are pieces of leftover ribbon from my years of stock. Any ribbons or cotton balls for the tail could be used. I used Mod Podge from Michael's for the decoupage medium. She was fun to make and I think I'll go buy some fake eyelashes for her. Close To My Heart papers are so thick that I found I needed to soak the ripped up scraps in water before i put them on the bunny. The drying took longer but that's ok. I probably spent 5-6 hours all told on her. Tomorrow I will start on the boy bunny.  

Time to hop off to bed!
