Rock and Roll Technique for the Hugs for You cards

I created the cards from the Hugs for You Workshops Your Way. I wanted to show one of my clubs what they look like in person and to work out any kinks when you make these versatile cards. The cards have many uses including Valentines Day cards. I love the Stitched Thin Cut circles that is suggested in the instructions. It' also been awhile since we used the rock & roll technique, which I really love and wanted to show how easy it is do do. I decorated the envelopes that come with the kit also.

The kit contents include:

1 – exclusive workshop stamp set (B-size)
2 – Boutique sheets
4 – cardstock sheets (1 Saffron, 2 Sugarplum, 1 White Daisy)
1 – Mink Twine (Z4221)
12 – white card bases & envelopes
Create 12 cards using the materials in this kit and easy-to-follow instructions (also found below). Complete your cards using the exclusive stamp images designed to give you ultimate control over the creative process, so you can always make your cards your way.

  • Use these 4 thin metal dies to quickly and easily cut the shapes shown.
  • Size of shapes: 2¼", 1¾", 1¼", ¾".
  • Thin Cuts are packaged on their own magnetic sheet and work well with most die-cutting machines. I use the Cricut Cuttlebug.

Here is my supply list:

  1. Hugs for You Workshop Your Way
  2. Charcoal Ink Pad
  3. Saffron Ink Pad
  4. Sugarplum Ink Pad
  5. Foam Dots
  6. Acrylic blocks
  7. Thin Cut Stitched Circles
  8. Micro tip scissors

Christmas Card in Nontraditional Colors

Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge has two challenges till the end of the month. #322 uses bold colors and is the one I chose to do. Using the whimsical and fun papers called Oh What Fun shows how cute and fun the nontraditional colors can be.

I used my stash of pink Shimmer Trim (discontinued) to adorn the top of the card. The felt complements which is the pink present and the snowflake at the top of the tree, coordinate with the papers and the strip of fa la la is a zip strip from one of the papers. The candy cane green and pink stripe paper surrounding the Christmas Tree are the Picture My Life cards included with the pack of Oh What Fun paper. The inside was also decorated with 2 zip strips and the Wonder of the Season stamp set stamped with Raspberry ink. I distressed the edge of the card with the Sugar Plum Shimmer Brush. It made a beautiful edge to the card.

  1. Oh What Fun paper pack
  2. Oh What Fun felt complements
  3. Wonder of the Season stamp set
  4. Shimmer Brush Sugar Plum
  5. Raspberry Ink Pad
Hope you like my little bit of joy!

Building a Fireplace for a Scrapbook Layout.

Here is the fireplace I created using texture paste and re-inkers to color it. I decorated it with stockings cut from a PML card from the 'Tis the Season kit. The mantle was cut from a wood paper from my stash. The fire was created from the You Are Here Cricut cartridge and colored and blended with our Water color pencils and blender pen. The plastic stencil was cut from the Artbooking cartridge using stencil sheets we just started carrying. I am having fun with that!

I made a video to show you how I created my warm a cozy addition to a Christmas scrapbook layout.
