I wanted to "play" with the new color pencils to get a better feel for them. I did learn if you want to add more color don't press harder, just add more layers of the same color in a different direction, ie. sideways, up & down, diagonally. Try to soften a color by using the white pencil over the color. It's fun to get back into coloring after a very long hiatus.
Here is my process video showing the watercolor pencils:
I'm continuing Jim's plane building project with a Sketchy challenge from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. The sketches are easy to work with, not so much detail that you have to have a cutting diagram, yet they are still interesting. This is a one page layout for the most recent work he's completed on the plane. He hasn't given me the pix yet so my photos spots are empty. Sorry about that!
Here's the sketch for the May 2020 Sketchy Challenge
This is my layout for the challenge. I'm using the very manly papers, Urban. They are perfect for hubby's project!! The letters were cut out with the Art Philosophy cartridge on Saffron cardstock. The cork embellishments were from my stash of Grateful. The papers were the Urban collection and the backgroud is Sapphire.
I needed a card for a very dear friend. The upcoming July Stamp of the Month has the perfect images and sentiments for this card so I'm giving you a preview of this sweet stamp set. I used mix-in papers with subtle designs so as to not detract from the main stamp of a girl carrying a bouquet of flowers. I decided I had to use this stamp and I decided it was perfect to showcase our new watercolor pencils. I love our new pencils!!
Be ready to preserve memories as you make them with a Craft with Heart™ Scrapbooking subscription. As a subscriber, you’ll receive regular deliveries of Cut Above® layout kits, each kit featuring two beautifully designed two-page layouts. Your layouts come together in minutes thanks to pre-printed base pages, with complementary die-cuts and stickers to help you preserve your memories in style.
These two 2-page layouts were completed in 29 minutes. Together they hold 12 pictures, or if you incorporate flip flaps. I love the lady bugs on the first layout and all the rain clouds on the other layout. Even busy people have the time to put these together. Honestly, the hardest thing is to get your pictures printed and that can be done at your corner drug store.
Craft with Heart has the simplest of instructions, has no cutting at all, and the only additional tools that are needed are adhesives. This is a great craft to do with your children and everyone will be happy with the end product.

A Million Little Things is a perfect stamp set for water coloring flowers. I used watercolor pencils but markers or traditional water colors would work as well. It is so easy to blend colors using pencils and a blending pen. You will think you became an artist overnight!! This stamp set has beautiful sentiments as well as flowers. The card design is from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. They never disappoint!!
The Sweet Hummingbird stamp set has lovely flowers and two hummingbirds in flight. I loved using the watercolor pencils to blend beautiful blues, greens and purples to create my hummingbird. The lagoon embossed paper from the Blue Skies Coordinating cardstock set off the hummingbird perfectly. The thin cuts make cutting out so easy. The card design is the Mojo Monday challenge 536.
