Getting Ready for Easter!

Easter decor at the entrance to my home is going to continue in the theme that I started this year which is a collage.  So here is the start of my Easter decorations:

As you can see the colors are not the usual Easter pastels that I love. This is a Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge to use the Close To My Heart colors from the Wanderful paper packet and Wanderful Workshop On The Go. The colors used in the kit are:

• Smoothie
• Honey
• Gypsy
• Crystal Blue 
• Black
• Flaxen
• Colonial White

How I put it together:

• the background is flaxen,
• the next layer is black with the edges scalloped using the Z1851 Scallop Border Punch
• the words "happy, Easter, Spring" were cut from honey cardstock using the Artbooking Cricut cartridge pages 62 & 63.
• the large eggs were cut using the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge at 8" decorative layer page 57 using colonial white cardstock and the smoothie Paper Fundamental Whimsey Assortment (all cardstock)
• the teardrop holes were backcovered in Crystal Blue and Gypsy cardstock
• the honey colored triangles in the scallop areas of the egg are colonial white cardstock covered in Honey Triangles Washi tape then backcovered.
• the smaller egg in the middle is a egg cut from Art Philosophy page 57 at 3" and covered in pieces of the background and texture pattern paper from the Wanderful Workshop On The Go scraps. I put it on another egg cut at 3 1/4" in colonial white to make it "pop".
• the zigzag stripes are pieces of Shimmer tape black and purple shimmer tape with little triangles cut out. 
• the bling pieces are from Z1812 Sparkles Flourishes

Here is a layout I created as an additional set to go with the first layout. Like I said these layouts are perfect for your travels. My problem is we don't do a lot of traveling, so when we do get to do some traveling, and I don't mean 100 miles from my house, I'll have the pages to accommodate our pictures. Then I'll be like my friends that were in Belize, Hawaii, Florida... I'm not bitter, really...
