Easy Cards and My Hubby was Framed!!

More from the Jackson Papers

After creating two 2-page layouts from the Jackson Workshop On The Go, I had paper left that I wanted to use. My goal is to use all the paper from each WOTG so I have less to store [due to limited space and organizational skills ;-)].

The Jackson paper lends itself to guys so here are two cards that I created that are great for any guys in your life:

  • The top card was made from a background and texture (B&T) cut to 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 then scored at 4 1/4 and folded in half. The 3 banner pieces were cut at 1 1/2 X 4 1/4 with the triangles cut out. The "Hello" greeting is a Picture My Life Jackson Z3068 card cut down and matted with B&T leftover matching the card then matted again with bronze glitter paper. You can make the mats bigger or smaller for your liking. I corner rounded all the edges.

  • The bottom card was made from a colonial white cardstock cut to 5 1/2 X 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4 then folded in half. The B&T strips are 2 X 4 1/4. The border covering the seam between the B&Ts is a border strip from the Jackson Complements and the glacier blue 1/4" strips are from the new Waschi tapes in the Seasonal Expressions 2 Idea Book. The greeting is the new Operation Smile stamp set called Happy Everything D1653. It was stamped in Desert Sand on Jackson B&T 1 3/4 X 2 and given a 1/8" mat all around with Juniper cardstock. The three embellishments on top are from the Brave Enamel Shapes self-stick and so easy to use.

Jim Was Framed!!

So I still had cardstock and B&T left so I went into the recesses of the brain and pulled out an old 5 minute layout I used to have my first club do. Cut 2 each pieces of two different but coordinating B&Ts from the WOTG into 6 X 6 and adhere them to cardstock diagonally from each other. My B&T leftovers were a little too small but 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 worked so I did the cuts and put them on contrasting Chocolate cardstock

This is how it turned out after I added stickers from the Jackson Complements:

The Juniper cardstock in the middle is 6 X 8 which is perfect for the 5 X 7 picture I took of my Hubby at the Dallas Arboretum. I couldn't have planned a better match of colors for this picture. Just so you know, I didn't plan this it just worked! I find that so often with the Close To My Heart papers.

Hope you enjoyed your visit!
